Injury and Rehabilitation

“Through my illness I learned rejection. I was written off. That was the moment I thought, Okay, game on. No prisoners. Everybody’s going down.” – Lance Armstrong

Everyone suffers from injury or illness at some point. While this is acutely frustrating for most of us, for a sports person, it can be a threat to part or all of their career.

It also prevents them from doing what they were put on this earth to do.

The Academy of the Sporting Mind provide supportive coaching through such events to ensure that recovery from injury is achieved in the most appropriate and timely manner possible.

While a sporting injury can be physically debilitating, it can also have a huge psychological and emotional impact. This often leads to an athlete “holding on” to an injury. This can result in a slower recovery process where an individual is unable to fully let go of the emotions attached to it and also a reduction in performance when they return to competition. A person can protect an injury even though it is physically better and even still experience some pain after a full recovery. This protecting can often lead to other injuries.

There are specific techniques to quickly deal with these issues and enable a sports person to move on. Coupled with a program of treatment and rehabilitation, your recovery will be as quick and painless as possible.
